Western Digital 6TB Drive

Western Digital knows that creative professionals and businesses crave giant storage capacities, and to satisfy that craving, it has announced the My Book Studio Edition II (6TB).

Western Digital 6TB Drive selling for $549.99, the new My Book Studio Edition II 6TB drive is being geared more toward the Mac than Windows. Western Digital is targeting it specifically to creative pros and businesses that need to store a large number of high-definition videos, photos, and other hefty files. Formatted for the Mac, the drive supports Apple's Time Machine and also comes with its own automated and continuous backup software.

Western Digital 6TB Drive My Book Studio Edition II Features:
● Massive 6 TB capacity;
● Extra-fast performance with four interfaces (FireWire 800/400, eSATA, USB 2.0);
Cool, eco-friendly operation with WD’s drives with WD GreenPower Technology that consume approximately one-third less power than standard dual-drive external storage systems and efficient convection cooling architecture and power-saving mode and designed without a fan to run quietly;
● Automatic and continuous backup software;
● User serviceability, enabling the user to open the enclosure and replace the drive inside;
● Capacity gauge to see at a glance how much space is available on the system; and,
5-year limited warranty.

Western Digital has also equipped the drive with its GreenPower Technology, which uses around 33 percent less power than other dual-disk storage systems and can keep the hardware cool without the need for a fan. A capacity gauge tells owners how much free space is left. And if one of the disks ever needs to be replaced, WD promises that the system is easy to open and get inside.
